Tourette's is not a problem. It is part
of life. This page is for school
children with TS and their friends
who accept them or are learning to
accept them for what they are.
Sharing of stories can help towards
    creating greater awareness about TS.
We would love to hear your story.

Hi. I have a friend I cherish more than anything.
She has TS and she is one of my best friends.
She's there for me when i need her n TS is just a path
    she's going through.
I condemn the people who laugh at her without
    knowing anything.
I condemn the people who thinks she is able to fully
    control it.
I condemn the people who thinks she's doing those
    tics on purpose.
I condemn the people that thinks she's different and
retarded. The truth is, she's no different than u or i.
She's as normal as anyone can be and she rocks!!! :D
She is confident and she moves on with life!!

So, to everyone with TS, stay strong and do know
that you are not alone !

    Hi (:
friend with TS. I was never really bothered about the
vocal tics cause its like whatever, you know. Its her,
    period. haha

initially had trouble accepting. Looking back, I feel so
small for thinking that I wanted my dear friend, who
    had no control
whatsoever over her tics, to control  the swearing tics.
Gradually, i didnt really care anymore bout her tics,
    swearing and other tics alike.

I`ve been in the same class as this friend of mine for 3
years and each one has been such a blessing. She
draws incredibly beautiful pictures and art. S
She dances like one heck of a worm, turning here, and
    strectching there !
And she perseveres in whatever she does.
Its insane to think that I actually know someone with
    TS.
Like i`m even friends with her!
They are so very rare (: such a privilege. And it
kills me when people who know that she has TS still
laugh at her or spitefully and maliciously imitate her.
Its so pathetic, c'mon. So totally third world mentality.

Anyway, i treasure this friend of mine even more than
she knows it i think haha.
She`s a beautiful creation of God, inside and out.

Just like to let you know that I'm really glad that you
    are
making an effort to increase the awareness of TS in
Malaysia. By the way, I've been suffering from tics for
28 years now, and is still coping with it.

    Good job, warm wishes. :)

    Hello,
I never knew anything about Tourette Syndrome  but
after I read an article from www.saifulislam.com, I feel
completely touch by the situation. Personally I believe
Tourette Syndrome is not a disease or disability. But
    rather a unique
characteristic of a person. It doesn't make a person
    weird
but it made a person so special.
No matter who we are, with or without TS,

I just want to say don't give up in life because it is full of
hope.Never let Tourette Syndrome dampen your life.
Life must go on no matter what happens,
    BEUSAHA BERSUNGGUH-SUNGGUH
    DI MANA ADA KEMAHUAN,
    DI SITU ADA JALAN.
Whatever happens, do not lose hold on
the two main ropes of life :-hope and faith.
Challenge your life with impossible dreams !

College life has indeed changed me in many
ways 'n' some of them were all because of a friend
whom I've just met. And she has Tourettes. I've only
known her only for about 3months but am thankful
that i was able to have met her.
Even though she has TS, she is no different from
others. In fact, she has more empathy than the
    rest of us.
At first, i was really annoyed by her tics during the
Orientation Week. I didn't want her to be my classmate
cause of her tics. However, i was put in the same
group as her. AND I WAS SO WRONG! I admit that my
perception towards her was mean because i didn't
    even know who she was.
Until one day, we started talking and eventually
became close friends now. We do assignments, study
    and hang out together.
I admire her a strong will in everything she does.
She is indeed amazing. Unfortunately, there are times
when she is down because of her tics, but she would
eventually pull herself together and still go on with life.
I am proud to have met such a extraordinary person,
what more, someone with TS .

To those out there, do your part in spreading the word
about TS so that they can lead a better life. And to
those TS friends, you're not alone. Be strong in taking
this journey called life. Never never give up :)

    My mum always tells me that;
Everyone in this world, has its own talent and use"
What I want to point out is, God is fair. You won't always
get want you want, but there is already something set
    for you.
The journey of life isn't always smooth. There might be
obstacles but with courage and faith, you can
overcome the obstacles and meet the rainbow on the
other end. Its is said that everyone has to suffer before
    gaining the ripe fruit.

One of my friend who is in the same class with me has
TS. Though with TS, she is totally smart, adorable,
beautiful and talented girl. See? Flaws do come with
    goodness.

I really hope that doctors and the experts are able to
find the solution for TS. To those with TS, you should
face our life with grace and smile always;  be confident
and have faith in yourself. All the best to you all TS
patients. You may not find the good in you yet, but
    somehow, you will one day.
